Just a few housekeeping items for all of you.
Please review the following items and be sure to communicate these to your players. If you have any questions, please speak with Pat.
Rules
1 - Each team will need to provide their own balls
1.1 - Men's approved ball will be USSSA Stamped Dudley Senior, Dudley PRO-M or Dudley PRO-M Hard Core - NO ONYX, ONYX BOOM+, Or Short Porch Ball allowed
1.2 - Women's approved ball will be USSSA Stamped Dudley Senior, Dudley Classic-W, or Classic-W Hard Core
2 - Bat Rules
2.1 - Men's 35 Division must use any USSSA approved 220 or 240 bats (no senior bats for 35's even if player is 40+)
2.2 - Men's 40 Division may use any approved 1.21 BPF Senior Bat, or any USSSA approved 220 or 240 bat
2.3 - Women's 35+ division
2.3.a - Women 35-39 may use any USSSA approved 220 or 240 bat (no senior bats for 35-39)
2.3.b - Women 40+ may use any approved 1.21 BPF Senior Bat, or any USSSA approved 220 or 240 bat (this includes any ladies 40+ playing even if on a 35+ team) - This is a Colorado ONLY RULE for this event as approved by the State Director
3 - Game times - Pool play will be 60 minute games and bracket will be 65 minutes
3.1 - Open inning will begin @ 50 minutes for pool games & @ 60 minutes for bracket.
4 - HR Rules - 6 HR's plus a DHH - The DHH MUST be identified on your lineup card BEFORE the game!
5 - Run rules - 5 run max innings with an open inning as the last inning
6 - Open inning format: Pool games at the end of 50 minutes : Bracket games at the end of 60 minutes - please refer to sec. 3.1.
7 - Flip/Flop Rule - I The flip-flop rule will be invoked in any game when there is a 10-run differential in favor of the visiting team at the start of the "OPEN INNING."
8 -Mercy Rule – (ALL DIVISIONS) If a team is behind 20 runs prior to time expiring at the completion of an inning, the game will be declared a mercy/completed game with no open inning
9 - Slide rules - No sliding into 1st or at home - this will be declared an out. Remember, all plays at home are treated as force plays
10 - Commitment/Score lines - remember to use the commitment and scoring lines when running to home - Remember, DON'T TOUCH THE PLATE!
10.1 - Any player touching the plate will be declared an out
10.2 - Any player crossing through the batters box will be declared an out
11 - Pitchers have the option to use the screen if they want
11.1 - Once the screen is placed, it must remain in place until the completion of the inning
11.1.a - If a new pitcher is placed mid-inning, that pitcher has discretion to either use the screen or remove it
11.2 - When using the screen, the pitcher cannot be the first one to touch a batted ball
11.2.a - ***2026 Colorado Rule Change*** - When using the screen, a pitcher may make initial play ONLY on a batted fly ball - LINE DRIVES ARE NOT IN PLAY FOR ANY PITCHER USING THE SCREEN
12 - Pitching rule - 6-10 FROM THE GROUND, and NO PUMP FAKES!
13 - Equalizer Rules
13.1 - Women's Equalizers * / **

13.1.b - 35AAA -vs- 40AAA - 40AAA receives 5 run spot or extra fielder
13.1.c - 35MAJ -vs- 40AAA - 40AAA receives 5 run spot or extra fielder
13.1.d - 35MAJ -vs- 35AAA - 35AAA receives 5 run spot or extra fielder
13.1.e - 35AAA -vs- 40MAJ - Straight up
13.1.f - 40AAA -vs- 40MAJ - 40AAA receives 5 run spot or extra fielder
13.1.g - 40MAJ -vs- 40MAJ - Straight up
13.2 - Men's Equalizers * / **

*ALL equalizers will be at the discretion of Director, and may be revised to ensure competitive & parity in matchups during events.

**Director reserves the right to implement both Run Spot & Extra Defensive player on a per-game/per-event basis if required to ensure competitive & parity in matchups during events.
